A regional shopping mall is being planned southeast of town, village trustees and residents learned this week.

The mall would be part of an expected annexation to Oswego of more than 2,000 acres, as developers Inland, Macom Corp. and John Greene assemble land packages, according to Michael Cassa, executive director of the Oswego Economic Development Corporation. The village hopes such a mall would be on the scale of the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora.

Oswego trustees reviewed the comprehensive plan with 50 residents at an informational town meeting this week. The plan has yet to be ratified by the Village Board.
