Village officials seem divided in their support of a 29-unit condominium building proposed by Morningside Park Condominiums for Western Avenue.
The project was scaled down after the Plan Commission in April recommended denying approval of a 39-unit complex.
The Plan Commission split 5-5 on recommending denial of the newer design, which incorporates fewer units, underground parking and a row-house appearance.
At Monday’s Village Board meeting, trustees voted 3-2 against the project in informal polling.
Several residents spoke out against the three-story revised design, saying it would still be out of character in their single-family neighborhood. The final vote on the project is scheduled for Oct. 25.
