George Ritzlin’s contact with computers must go back to the computer dark ages of the ’80s, when scrolling a line at a time was about the only option other than the page-up and page-down keys (“Backward scroll,” Voice of the people, Oct. 13). You can move your choice of just a screen or a full page up and down. As for bookmarks, the least powerful modern word processor not only book marks pages but can even bookmark a specific chapter, page, word or a tiny punctuation mark. Try doing that with your sticky notes. It will also highlight text in a choice of colors and insert comments throughout the book. And every mark you make is erasable and doesn’t damage or deface the original. Try that on your priceless manuscript.
