I object to a line in a letter by Sharon Fleck Herman (“Too late for rage,” Voice of the people, Oct. 13). That line states: “Any driver who crossed paths with licensed Illinois truckers was a potential victim.”

I was a licensed Illinois trucker for 45 years until I retired in 1996. I drove the roads in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan and got no tickets and had no accidents in that time–and also no victims.
