Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I never met Payne Stewart but I think I knew him. He was what personified the sport of golf, always the epitome of the game. He was a sportsman, a gentleman golfer who never made a spectacle of himself. No temper tantrums; bad or good shots alike he simply accepted whatever it was with complete aplomb.

His dress style identified him as separate from all the others, but if there is a heart in the professional golf community I would hope that every player in the Tournament of Champions would wear plus fours in the color of their choice in honor of Payne.
