ELMHURST–It seems I’m not alone in voicing my disappointment over “The Dinette Set.” It’s simply a lame strip.
Bring back “The Lockhorns” full time!

ATTENTION MUST BE PAID
LISLE–I moved to the Chicago area from Miami in June. I have slowly warmed to the Tribune, a definite step up from the Miami Herald. The Herald does have a good television columnist named Terry Jackson. It often takes me awhile to get used to a critic and value his or her opinion.
I read Steve Johnson’s article on David Letterman (Oct. 26) on the front of Tempo. Mr. Johnson has my attention from here on in. The article was well-written, entertaining and insightful. He captured the essence of Letterman and what was missing for a brief time. After reading Johnson’s words, I now know why I have not watched “The Late Show” for some time and why I should return again.
I look forward to Mr. Johnson’s future ideas. I only wish that he could somehow rescue “Homicide” from the NBC scrap heap.
