Charles Cliever Lynn, 65, a former United Airlines executive in Chicago who later started his own company in Norwalk, Conn., died Friday of colon cancer in Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. Mr. Lynn was born in Riverside, Calif., and got his bachelor’s degree in international transportation from Georgetown University. He immediately went to work for United Airlines, which eventually transferred him to the Chicago area. A longtime resident of Northfield, he retired as the comptroller for the airline after 32 years with the company. After his retirement, he started International Charter Group, a professional employer organization that outsources human resource functions. He started the company from scratch, and it now operates in 10 states. “He was proud of his career at United and maybe even more proud of the opportunity he had later in his life to build a business for his children,” said his son, Robert Maclean Lynn, now ICG’s corporate vice president. A resident of Darien, Conn., Mr. Lynn was working for ICG until just before his death. In addition to his son, he is survived by his wife, Marilynn Maclean Lynn; a daughter, Deborah Lynn Morlock; a brother, Henry Lynn Jr.; and five grandchildren. Services were private.
