Jerome R. “Jerry” Thomas, 72, died Friday in his Elmhurst home. Born on Chicago’s West Side, Mr. Thomas was a 25-year employee of and former vice president of American National Bank and Trust Co. in Chicago. He also was a past president of the Illinois Bankers Association and a faculty member of the American Institute of Banking. Mr. Thomas lived in Elmhurst since 1955. He served with the 1st Marine Division in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Elaine; a son, Charles; two daughters, Julieann and Marianne Robertson; a sister, Sister Mary Eugenia; two brothers, Ralph and Bernard; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:15 a.m. Wednesday until services at 9:15 a.m. in Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York St., Elmhurst, to be followed by mass at 10 a.m. in Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 426 N. West Ave., Elmhurst.
