Joseph Becker, 63, of Inverness, vice president of O.E.M. Graphics Service Inc., Schaumburg, died Monday in Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Mr. Becker was a Chicago native and an Army veteran. Mr. Becker and his brother, Larry, co-founded O.E.M. Graphics Service, which installs printing presses, in 1987. “He was a loving husband and father,” said his wife, Mary. “He was a brilliant guitarist,” said his sister-in-law, Kathy. “Not many people knew that. He was given a Les Paul guitar when he was in his 20s. His lifelong dream was to one day play with Les Paul. He contacted Les and kept in touch with him over the years. Last month he went to New York and sat in with him on stage. Les Paul was his idol. They had a great time. He lived his lifelong dream.” Survivors also include a son, Joseph Robert; a daughter, Cheryl Anne Shively; and three grandsons. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
