Being one of the jewelers who may be displaced from the 5 N. Wabash Ave. building, I would ask the public to consider the fact that we aren’t all retail jewelers here (Metro, Nov. 3). We are setters, polishers, pearl stringers, casters, as well as hairdressers and accountants. We’re all small-business people who work very long hours, do not take vacations every other month, and do not have the millions of dollars available to us that the tax-exempt Art Institute does.
The city should take care of its’ small merchants who live and work in the city.
