Every year since 1991, Jahn Elementary School, on the Near Northwest Side of Chicago has campaigned for UNICEF. Although a low-income, small school of approximately 500, students raised more than $1,300 last year, making us 14th in the state. This year, we’ve exceeded that by several hundred! The reason, besides Jahn’s compassionate, generous community, is Chuck Schwartz, the owner of The Card and Party Warehouse. Mr. Schwartz donates time and money with UNICEF to raise awareness, provide incentives and motivate students in several neighborhood schools.
We would like to publicly thank Mr. Schwartz for making our world a better place and for helping our students to learn about citizenship in a global context. We wish there were more business people like him.
And we want to thank UNICEF for providing a mainstay for children around the world since 1950.
