John E. “Jack” Fitzgerald, 57, of Downers Grove died Friday in his home. Born in Chicago, Mr. Fitzgerald worked as a stationary engineer for Jewel Food Stores in Melrose Park for 34 years. Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, John; and two daughters, Eileen Keely and Kelly Fitzgerald. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 Cass Ave., Darien. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8404 Cass Ave., Darien.
