Many people had difficulty believing that Robin Williams’ Patch Adams was based on a true story: Surely no real person could be as annoying as the cloying, rubber-nosed joker that Williams portrayed. Decide for yourself when the good doctor, accompanied by Dr. Susan Perenti, comes to town for two workshops, “Living a Life of Joy,” and “Passion and Persistence.” Music, clowning, and storytelling are promised Saturday and Monday at the Strongbow Inn in Valparaiso, Ind., and the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont. Dr. Adams’ profits from the $95-$125 tickets benefit the Geshundheit Institute in Virginia, and Children’s Memorial Hospital. Reservations by phone only; 219-861-0533.
