Wildey “Wil” David Morrison, 80, a former longtime resident of Northfield Township and founder of M & F Builders Supply Inc. in Elk Grove Village, died Nov. 6 in his vacation home in Ft. Myers, Fla., after a long bout with cancer. Born in Utah, Mr. Morrison moved with his family to Hollywood during the Depression. He was signed by the now-defunct St. Louis Browns baseball team, but an injury ended his career before he could play for the team. Mr. Morrison found M & F Builders Supply in the late 1960s. He served as president of the company until his retirement in the late 1980s. Mr. Morrison was the 1973-74 president of the National Builders Hardware Association, now known as the Door and Hardware Institute. He won the association’s highest honor of Distinguished Architectural Hardware Consultant in 1989. He is survived by three sons, Bradley, David and Douglas; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A private memorial service will be held on Dec. 3.
