In the Nov. 13 Tribune, letter writer Scott Lynch-Giddings at long last found the “real” solution to gun violence: Ban the guns. I love this. I love it so much that I wonder why we should stop there. For example, alcoholic beverages cause untold misery. Prohibit them. You can make your own list of things to ban. Mine begins with Cubs losses, proceeds on to lying presidents (and aldermen on the take), and concludes with sordid daytime talk shows. Ban them!
How much killing will be required before people like Mr. Lynch-Giddings realize that there is no political cure for the evils of the human heart?
