Ellen H. Semrow, 88, of McHenry and formerly of Chicago, died Saturday in her home. She was a home economist and nutritionist with the American Institute of Baking and was elected its first woman president. Survivors include a son, Harry Semrow; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry.
