My favorite memory (well, the one that concerns mankind as a whole) from the last 100 years is watching the fall of the Berlin Wall. I was 15 and studying German in high school, and we talked extensively about the East-West split. One day I had the TV on while doing my homework and all of a sudden, a newscast cut in. I saw all of these people dancing on the wall, and then they began to tear it down. I was mesmerized. That was the first time anything like that had some sort of relevancy to me. It also showed me that once in a while, good things actually do happen.
