I was lucky enough to interview one of the main characters of the Fox show “That ’70s Show.” Ashton Kutcher, 21, plays good-looking but gullible Mike Kelso.
Q: How did you know “That ’70s Show” was right for you?
A: I don’t think an actor ever knows… but the script for “That ’70s Show” had some really funny stuff.
Q: How did you get your start?
A: When I was at the University of Iowa in 1997, a woman told me to enter a modeling contest. At first, I was like, “What, is that like even a job for guys to do?” Well, I won the contest and got a trip to New York. After that, I was traveling around the world modeling.
Q: Can you compare your show with other teenage shows such as “Dawson’s Creek” or “Popular”?
A: As a sitcom it can’t (be compared) with other teen shows, because the others are mostly dramas.
Q: What’s next on the show?
A: Jackie might find out about Laurie and me, and then Fez might make a bigger move on Jackie to get her to notice him. There’s probably going to be more of the van because that’s a fun new thing, and then Donna and Eric might get a little closer.
