Wayne Gerlach, 50, formerly of Lombard, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, in Rochester, N.Y. Mr. Gerlach, born in Oak Park, was a 13-year resident of Rochester and a physicist in the optics department of Eastman Kodak Co., in Rochester. He served in Korea during the Vietnam War. Mr. Gerlach graduated from Lombard Junior High School and from Glenbard East High School in Lombard in 1967 and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1983 from Illinois Institute of Technology. He was an avid golfer and scuba diver. Survivors include his mother, Margaret; three brothers, Richard, Michael and Kim; a sister, Kerri Halsall; nine nieces and nephews; and five great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
