More Lucent chips: Lucent Technologies Inc. said its microelectronics group agreed to acquire Agere, a closely held maker of programmable network processor technology, for $415 million in stock. The acquisition, expected to close by June 30, moves Lucent into the fast-growing market for programmable processing chips for packet-based networks. Packet-based networks allow phone companies to combine voice and data traffic through networks.
