Hector L. Munoz, 47, of Elgin, a landscaper, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Born in Jalisco, Mexico, Mr. Munoz came to Chicago in the 1970s and worked as a landscaper. For the last five years, Mr. Munoz owned and operated H-M Lawn Service, a landscaping company in Elgin. “He was a very cheerful person,” said his daughter Maria. “He was really good-hearted.” Other survivors include his wife, Maria; three daughters, Susana, Angelica and Diane; his parents, Vicente and Amparo; a sister, Carmen; four brothers, Daniel, Julian, Esrein and Antonio; and six grandchildren. A visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday in Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. A mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 272 Division St., Elgin.
