Alfred Glasser, emeritus education director of Lyric Opera, will deliver a lecture on Bizet’s “Carmen” at 6 p.m. Friday at the Alliance Francaise, 54 W. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $5 for members, $10 non-members. Lyric’s new production of the work will open for 13 sold-out performances Feb. 12 at the Civic Opera House.
