James C. McDonald, 45, of Arlington Heights, died Monday, Feb. 28, of a heart attack in Princeton, Ill. Mr. McDonald, who was born in Atlanta, was a truck driver for Yellow Freight System Inc., Chicago Ridge, since 1996. He was previously a truck driver for 15 years with Custom Trucking Co., a northwest suburban firm. “He liked to fish,” said his sister Jimmie Devine. “He loved to travel. All he wanted to do when he was a kid was be a truck driver. He loved it. He just loved life. Everybody that met him felt that he had a charm about him. He was a people person. My kids just loved him.” Other survivors include his companion, Donna Hardistein; his mother, Charlotte McDonald; and another sister, JoAnne Whitney. A visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Justen’s Round Lake Funeral Home, 222 N. Rosedale Ct., Round Lake. A service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
