Chicago connection: I attended the School of Speech at Northwestern University. In my sophomore year I got the part of Steve Martin’s daughter in “Father of the Bride.” Then I went back and completed my degree. College was important. I was part of a group on a journey and I wanted to complete the trip. I also wanted to study theater in depth and establish a foundation on which to build my career.

Marital status: Single.

Working on: I’m in the NBC mini-series “The Tenth Kingdom.” (The last two episodes air Sunday and Monday.) I’m currently playing on the West End in London in David Mamet’s “Speed-the-Plow,” I’m in “Simpatico” with Sharon Stone, Jeff Bridges and Nick Nolte, and I just finished a movie called “Elephant Juice.”

The last good movie I saw: “Being John Malkovich.”

I stay home to watch: “ER.”

Nobody knows I’m: Hungry.

If I could do it over: I would have listened to my mother’s stock tips.

I’d give anything to meet: The author John Irving.

The one thing I can’t stand: Road rage.

Most humbling experience: I once discovered my underwear trailing out of the bottom of my pant leg as I was walking down the street, just after I noticed a cute guy giving me a strange smile.
