The March 2 editorial in response to the shooting and killing of one 1st grader by another was still another call for sensible gun legislation. President Clinton is once again asking Congress to pass a law mandating safety locks.
I’m afraid that once again the gun lobby will claim that we don’t need more gun laws, that all we have to do is punish the offenders. Why do they insist that prevention and punishment are mutually exclusive?
