Kenneth B. Wenzel, 67, of Streamwood, a retired plumber, died Saturday, March 4, in Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. Born in Chicago, Mr. Wenzel graduated from Senn High School there and served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He was stationed in Alaska for two years and was a plumber. A resident of Streamwood since 1964, Mr. Wenzel worked as a journeyman plumber for 35 years at Ullrich Plumbing & Heating Co. in Chicago. He retired in 1994. “He was a jokester,” said his son Kenneth B. Jr. “He was always telling jokes.” Other survivors include his wife of 43 years, Alice; four sons, Daniel, Steven, Robert and David; four daughters, Lori Trychta, Teri Sloan, Linda and Susan; a sister, Marianne Koshe; and 14 grandchildren. A visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Nelson Funeral Home, 5149 N. Ashland Ave., Chicago. A service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
