Police Chief Edward Musial told the City Council on Monday night that during the weeks following Dr. Xu Sue Wang’s disappearance, detectives logged $11,000 worth of overtime work on the case.

“At this point I don’t know if we’ll ever find her,” he said.

Wang’s husband, Yijun Zeng, told police last August that his wife left that day for her job at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, but never arrived.

Musial told council members that although police do not have evidence that a crime was committed, police have not ruled out the possibility of Wang’s husband’s involvement in the case.

“We have nothing but inaccurate statements from him,” Musial said.
