March 1998 provided the highest trade volume when 38 players found themselves skating for a new club on deadline day. Blackhawks sniper Tony Amonte scored his seventh career hat trick, his sixth in a Hawks uniform, in a 4-1 win Sunday over the Lightning in Tampa Bay. Amonte now trails Blackhawks legend Jim Pappin by one for a share of sixth place on the Hawks’ all-time three-or-more goal games list.

Hitchcock, who earlier this season overtook Bob Gainey (165 wins) and Glen Sonmor (174 wins) to become the all-time winningest coach in franchise history, has become the fifth fastest coach in NHL history to reach the 200-win plateau.
