Ruth Ann Dimer, 64, a nurse’s assistant from Elgin, died Monday, March 13, in St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. Born and raised in Chicago, Mrs. Dimer worked in various nursing homes in the Chicago area, said her daughter, Cheryl Janik. “She loved to sew and made beautiful quilts,”said her daughter. Before moving to Elgin, Mrs. Dimer was a Darien resident, where she was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Other survivors include a son, Craig; eight grandchildren; a brother, Louis Hasselbring; and three nieces. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until services at 8 p.m. Thursday in St. John Lutheran Church, 7214 S. Cass Ave., Darien.
