Daniel G. McCullough, 84, of Wheeling, a retired postal worker, died Tuesday, March 14, in Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines. Born in Chicago, Mr. McCullough graduated from Senn High School before serving in the Coast Guard during World War II. After his service, Mr. McCullough began working as a letter carrier in Chicago. He delivered mail in the Rogers Park neighborhood before working as a foreman at a Chicago mail-processing plant. He retired in 1976 after working for 10 years as a supervisor at the post office in Niles. He then worked more than 10 years as a security guard at Hersey High School in Arlington Heights. “He was a big man with a big heart,” said his daughter Carol Kilmon. Other survivors include another daughter, Susan, and five grandchildren. A service was held Thursday.
