Edward J. Wade, 67, a 30-year resident of Mt. Prospect, retired in 1989 as a visual merchandiser with Sears Roebuck & Co., in the Sears Tower headquarters building, Chicago, after 25 years of service. Mr. Wade, a Chicago native, died Saturday, March 18, in his home. He served with an Army quartermaster unit in Germany during the Korean War. He was a choir member at St. Raymond Church in Mt. Prospect, where he also participated in Christian Family Movement and was involved with theatrical productions. “He was a good man who tried to help everyone,” said his wife, Marilyn. “He loved to sing. He was an artist. After he retired, he did portraits of houses. Before he worked for Sears, he’d been a commercial artist,” she said. “So many people benefited from what he did. He was a good dad, a good grandpa and a good husband. He took care of us.” Other survivors include a daughter, Lisa Davalos; three sons, Christopher, John and Matthew; a sister, Marge Ostrowski; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Tuesday until mass at 10 a.m. in St. Raymond Catholic Church, Elmhurst Road and Lincoln Street, Mt. Prospect.
