Larry G. Lewis, 60, a funeral director for more than 30 years, died Saturday, March 18, in his Addison home after having a heart attack. Mr. Lewis, owner of Cuneo-Columbian Funeral Home in Franklin Park, was born and raised on a farm in Madrid, Iowa, but moved to Chicago when he was 9. After graduating from Notre Dame High School in Niles, he attended Iowa State University for a year before serving the next eight years in the U.S. Air Force. He later graduated from Worsham Mortuary College in Chicago and started working for Cuneo-Columbian Funeral Home, owned by his sister Ann L. Cuneo. “He loved talking with people. He just felt really good always being with a lot of people,” said Gina Groer-Lewis, one of Mr. Lewis’ daughters. In his spare time, Mr. Lewis enjoyed playing golf and spending time on his horse ranch in Redlands, Calif., where he had 16 show horses. In addition to his daughter, Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 37 years, Masako “Jackie;” a son, George; another daughter, Patricia Neubert; a sister, Golda Stout; and four grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in Cuneo-Columbian Funeral Home, 10300 W. Grand Ave., Franklin Park. Services will be at noon Thursday in the funeral home.
