Frank Valenti, 82, of Arlington Heights retired in the early 1980s as a partner in and machinist for Chicago Tag & Label Inc., a printing company, after 25 years of service. Mr. Valenti, who was born in Grand Haven, Mich., died Sunday, March 19, in Northwest Community Healthcare Center, Arlington Heights. Mr. Valenti served as a Marine Corps marksman in the South Pacific during World War II. After the war, he was the owner and master meat cutter at the former Sunset Foods, Chicago, from the late 1940s to the early 1960s. In the last two years, Mr. Valenti was a meat wrapper at Dominick’s Finer Foods, Arlington Heights. “He had a zest for life,” said his son Dominic. “He was a hard-driving man. He lived his life to the fullest right to the end.” Survivors include his wife Mary “Marie”; another son, Albert; three daughters, Anna Marie, Rose Mary and Nancy; two sisters, Lena Martucci and Mary Modica; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. Prayers will be said at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by mass at 10 a.m. in St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights.
