Born in Chicago, Mrs. Patterson was an office manager at Acme-Wiley Corp. in Elk Grove Village. Mrs. Patterson worked for Acme-Wiley from the 1930s until her retirement in the 1950s. After retiring, Mrs. Patterson enjoyed traveling to locations within the United States. One of her favorite trips was to Hawaii. She also was an active member of Visitation Church in Elmhurst. “She was a very regular attendee,” Wurtz said. “She was very devout.” Mrs. Patterson also enjoyed twice-weekly bridge games with her friends, which she continued until this month. “She was a very avid bridge player,” Wurtz added. Other survivors include two nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday in Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York St., Elmhurst.
