John Thomas Noth, 58, a 30-year resident of Wheaton, died Thursday, March 23, in his home. Born in Chicago, Mr. Noth was an estimator and buyer in the masonry industry. He worked for G. Porter & Co. in St. Charles for 18 years and prior to that, he worked for D.H. Johnson Masonry in Villa Park for 15 years. In his position, Mr. Noth was responsible in part for estimating the number of bricks and the amount of mortar needed to construct buildings. “He enjoyed the accuracy of it,” said his wife, Signe. In addition, Mr. Noth took great pride in working with younger colleagues. “He mentored a lot of guys who wanted to get into the business,” Signe Noth said. Other survivors include a daughter, Dana Lea; two brothers, Orin Kenneth Jr. and William Gerald; and a sister, Suzanne Rapp. Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. in St. Daniel the Prophet Church, 101 W. Loop Rd., Wheaton.
