For 33 years I have been an avid reader of your sports section. A graduate of Indiana University, I recently informed the IU athletic department that I would no longer contribute financially to the program as long as Bob Knight was associated with the university.
While I must admit that I agree with many of the things written by Skip Bayless in his March 19 column, I must take exception to one of the paragraphs.
I know people who still support Knight, but none has said or would say that Neil Reed deserved to be strangled. Further, Bayless’ comparison of Knight’s supporters to people who gave John Rocker a standing ovation is a pretty pathetic analogy. There are many good-hearted people who still support Knight, and I think an apology is owed them.
