In today’s society there are many problems facing teens.

There are the obvious ones, like smoking and drinking, but gossip is a huge problem that is overlooked.

Every time I turn around it seems that someone is spreading a rumor about me or someone close to me.

It makes me so mad that people can’t just keep their noses out of other people’s business.

When thinking about gossip I wonder why Americans especially have such a huge need to know other people’s business.

Then I thought, the biggest gossip comes from TV.

Every time I turn on the television, “Oprah” or “The View” is shoving other people’s business in my face.

And, yes, they make it interesting, and I will watch once in a while.

But I think the world shouldn’t be like this.

Without gossip I think high school could be a much better place to be.
