Eclipsys drops takeover bid: Health-care computer services company Eclipsys Corp. on Thursday dropped its efforts to pressure Shared Medical Systems Corp. to accept a $2 billion takeover offer. The decision came as Eclipsys agreed to a $1.45 billion merger with Neoforma.com Inc. Delray Beach, Fla.-based Eclipsys said it was withdrawing its nomination of four directors to replace a majority of the current Shared Medical board of directors. Eclipsys also said it had dropped its litigation against Shared Medical.
