La Tasca, 25 W. Davis St., Arlington Heights, announces its April schedule of live entertainment. La Tasca serves Spanish cuisine with a European flavor and features tapas, smaller portions of food served in rounds. Entertainment includes Caso Lando featuring Carlos Ortega and his Latin combo, at 7 p.m. April 6. Flamenco dancing with Theresa y Los Preferidos will return at 7:30 p.m. April 18. Christophe, 111 N. Main St., Crystal Lake, an intimate Parisian-style bistro, will hold a wine dinner at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Owner, and chef John Havlis will pair four of New Zealand’s highest-rated wines from Brancott Vineyards with a four-course dinner that begins with an assortment of canapes, served with a 1998 sauvignon blanc. New Zealand John Dory, pink butter with langoustine will be served with a 1998 chardonnay. New Zealand lamb loin chop and Cervena venison medallions with a black peppercorn sauce will be served with a 1997 pinot noir reserve. A salad of wild mesclun, lettuce, gooseberries and warm Camembert cheese will accompany the meal. Kiwi lime cheesecake with horn melon sorbet and passion fruit sauce served with a 1998 gewurztraminer will top off the evening. The cost is $55 per person, and reservations are recommended. Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que, 1631 W. Lake St., Addison, will hold a grand opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting beginning at 10:45 a.m. Thursday. The ceremony includes the traditional “passing of the fire,” as the torch from the newest store, in Vernon Hills, will be brought in by firetruck. The new location is the prototype for a new decor, a series of rooms with different themes including a cabin, marina, boathouse and outfitter room. “It’s very unique to the concept,” said manager John Tvedt. Famous Dave’s menu includes hickory-smoked St. Louis-style ribs, Texas beef brisket and its own award-winning Rich & Sassy BBQ Sauce. Prices range from $3.50 for salads and sandwiches to $17.99 for dinners. A children’s menu is available.
