The Frankfort Plan Commission has postponed until April 13 a public hearing on a proposed senior development so that staffers can research the project further.
Commissioners said they liked the project but were concerned about its size.
Wynncrest Senior Community would encompass a 200-acre parcel at the corner of Sauk Trail and Ridgeland Avenue, a site that would also have to be annexed by the village prior to development.
The development would include small cottage homes, condominiums, town homes, open space, 25 to 30 acres of lakes, a clubhouse, pool, an independent living center, assisted living and a skilled-care facility.
The community is meant for people over age 55 and could hold up to 2,000 residents.
