Round 4 (125th):

Reggie Austin, cornerback, Wake Forest.

Height: 5-9.

Weight: 172.

Notable: Burner (4.35 in the 40) with 6 interceptions over last two seasons … first career start against Northwestern in ’96 … strong in man-to-man coverage … 37.5-inch vertical leap … has been a starter at both cornerback spots … 10.6-yard average returning punts in ’99.

Round 6 (170th):

Frank Murphy, running back, Kansas State.

Height: 5-11.

Weight: 206.

Notable: Recently timed at 4.22 in the 40, regarded as one of the fastest athletes in college athletics … numerous off-field problems before coming to Kansas State, and missed four games in ’98 for taking money from a booster to buy a car … has played receiver as well as running back and averaged 27.3 yards on 15 kickoff returns … averaged 6.0 per carry and 15.2 per catch for his career.

Round 6 (174th):

Paul Edinger, placekicker, Michigan State.

Height: 5-10.

Weight: 169.

Notable: Converted 21 of 26 FGs and 40 of 41 PATs as a senior, with FGs of 54 and 55 yards …nearly 83 percent successful (43 of 52) on field goals last two seasons … punted first two seasons with 40-yard average … 103 total points as a senior … power kicker regularly putting kickoffs into the end zone … final college kick won Citrus Bowl 37-34 over Florida.

Round 7 (223rd):

James Cotton, defensive end, Ohio State.

Height: 6-3.

Weight: 251.

Notable: Speed rusher with 5 sacks in ’99 … junior college transfer from Community College of San Francisco where he was JUCO all-American in ’97 with 100 tackles and 8 sacks … only 1 start in 24 games at Ohio State … 11 tackles for loss last season.

Round 7 (254th):

Defensive back Michael Green, Northwestern State (La.).

Height: 6-0.

Weight: 178.

Notable: Another speed pick (4.46) for the defense … considered solid bump-and-run cover back and has speed to play cornerback in NFL … has played strong safety and averaged 7 tackles per game for college career and had 99 in senior season.
