The Rolling Meadows council approved paying $86,250 to Burke Engineering to help develop a Geographic Information System.

GIS provides aerial and underground maps of a city, including utility lines, sanitary and storm sewer lines, water mains and tax parcels.

The effort is expected to help developers, surveyors and design engineers as well as the city’s Public Works, Building and Zoning, and Engineering Departments.
