Wayne H. Trebes, 83, of West Dundee retired in 1980 as a clerk and moldmaker at The Haeger Potteries Inc., East Dundee, after 35 years of service. Mr. Trebes died Monday, May 15, in Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Mr. Trebes served with the Army in France during World War II. “We were married for 51 years,” said his wife, Emily. “He was a good husband. He was a coach of a ladies softball team in his 20s and 30s. He was also a bowler with the VFW league.” Other survivors include two daughters, Joyce Smith and Nancy Vangel; a sister, Esther Schultz; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday in Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee.
