The state Natural Resources Board of Wisconsin is creating a fall hunting season for mourning doves (Tribune, May 25). This would allow hunters to kill fifteen each day. This is a sport? Why hunters would even desire to kill these peaceful doves is beyond me. What will be next–using yellow finches for target practice?
