I know Leonard Pitts wrote his column “How stupid are you? Idiot warnings foil survival of the fittest” (Commentary, May 30) with tongue in cheek. But it’s really not so funny. We are surrounded by people who do stupid things and do get judgments awarding them millions of dollars for doing so. What about the man who was committing a robbery and sued the victim for retaliating and hurting him in return? The robber sued and won.

Pitts needs to add to his list a warning for gun purchasers: “This gun can shoot, which might result in the death of a friend, loved one or innocent victim.”
