Are you used to it yet? We have now exceeded $2 per gallon for gasoline. Why has there been little or no public or governmental outcry? In a period covering approximately six months, fuel prices have risen 70 percent to 80 percent. What would happen if bread or milk prices escalated at that rate?

A year or two back the cereal industry was put under scrutiny for its inflated prices, and after being investigated could not justify the price because it was a daily staple for American children.

Why is there no investigation of the oil industry or why is more pressure being put on the Middle East, whose oil we protected and gave back after Desert Storm? American lives were lost to do this.

Businesses are receiving surcharges from their suppliers and are starting to pass them on to consumers. The price of every product in America is going to go up. Increases in the prime rate have only minimally slowed the economy. Increases in fuel prices will do the trick, though–whose idea was that?

Go on with your lives, pay the increased costs, justify to yourself that $1.70 a gallon is cheap and you’ve become the cattle they want you to be.

Speak up–or forever hold your peace and suffer the consequences.
