The Bears agreed to a three-year, $891,000 contract Wednesday with sixth-round pick Paul Edinger, the hoped-for answer to the kicking problems that lost several games for them last season.

The former Michigan State star, who will receive a $65,000 signing bonus and base salaries of $193,000, $275,000 and $358,000, is the fourth Bears draft choice to sign.

Edinger will compete with Jaret Holmes, currently kicking in NFL Europe, for the kicking job once training camp opens in July.
