Dolores A. Johnson, 59, died Monday, June 5, in her Elgin home. A native of Elgin, Ms. Johnson graduated from Elgin High School in 1959. During the past decade, Ms. Johnson worked in the health-care field. She spent the past five years at Carlton Home Health Care in Geneva, where she was a companion for the elderly and sick. She was an avid reader and enjoyed walking and jogging. “She was always smiling,” recalled her sister, Mitzie Palochko. Other survivors include a daughter, Dee Marie Richards; three sons, Evert and Carl Frey and Ryan Johnson; her mother, Edna Palochko; two brothers, Dave and Don Palochko; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
