William A. Ostarello, 73, a retired engineer from Downers Grove Township, died Sunday, June 4, in Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. Mr. Ostarello worked for the Chicago engineering firm Robertson-Shafer. “He really enjoyed model trains and bowling,” said his daughter-in-law, Mary Ostarello. Mr. Ostarello’s interest in model trains focused principally on Lionels, which he showcased in his basement. “He was a kind and a compassionate man,” his daughter-in-law said. Mr. Ostarello is also survived by two sons, Joseph and Steve; a daughter, Cynthia Senicka; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien. Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with mass at 10 a.m. in St. Scholastica Catholic Church, 7800 Janes Ave., Woodridge.
