The Schaumburg Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously recommended Wednesday night that the Village Board grant a special-use permit for Nobu’s Japanese Restaurant at 1318 N. Roselle Rd.

Village Development Review Planner Julie Summers told the board that the 4,198-square-foot restaurant would be open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 5 to 10 p.m. Saturdays.

Nobu’s, which would be located in a vacant retail space in the south building of Remington Plaza Shopping Center, would serve Japanese cuisine.

Hanover Park resident Hyon C. Kim, owner of the proposed restaurant, said the restaurant would have seating capacity for 100 patrons.

Barry J. Millman of Horizon Realty Services Inc., Arlington Heights, leasing broker for Remington Plaza, said the site was previously occupied by a grocery store selling Asian food.

The recommendation will be presented to the Village Board on June 27.
